WHO
WE ARE
GLA has
coalition members from the United States and Canada, in core cities
throughout the Great Lakes region. These members will help organize
events and manage them annually. These members will work closely
with community, state, and international organizations that lead
the way in Great Lakes protection, fresh water conservation and
smart growth planning. Strengthening the environmental nonprofit
sector in the United States, our efforts will support more than
just freshwater ecosystem sustainability and the reform of international
finance and trade institutions. With our outreach, concerts, media
visibility and GLA's program/grant-making efforts, we will provide
leadership, financing and guidance to sustainable efforts throughout
the Great Lakes region - and be a model for programs worldwide.
The first step in this process, however, is to make sure that the
core staff of Great Lakes Aid has proper funding for the pre-concert
planning process, which will take between 6 and 12 months prior
to the Summer 2007 concert.
